This traditional and very old drawing balm is all-natural and very effective on stings, bug bites, splinters, ingrown hairs, and boils. Basically, anything you want to pull out of the skin. It will not stain the skin and even has anti-biotic properties. This means that it will draw out what ails you and then protect against infection. Be forewarned, it will stain fabric!
Place on the affected area with a q-tip. The charcoal gets messy fast. Then cover with a bandaid for 24 hours. Then remove the bandaid and wash. Repete as necessary. May stain fabric, so do be careful with clothing.
Black Magic is based on the old Amish recipe. As with all recipes, I do my own thing. And I hope you experiment until you get your desired result.
- 3 Tablespoons comfrey
- 3 Tablespoons calendula
- 3 Tablespoons plantain infused oil. How do you infuse oils? Take your plant mattter I use fresh flowers and herbs. Crush them with a pestal and mortar or chop in a food processor. Put them in a jar fill the jar with a organic oil such as sunflower or olive oil. Leave outside in the sun and moon for 1 month. Strain with a fine strainer or chesscloth.
- 2 teaspoons sea butter
- 2 Tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 Tablespoons beeswax
- 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 2 Tablespoons activated charchol powder
- 2 Tablespoons kaolin clay
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 20 drops ish essential oil. I like a woodsy scent like cedar.
Start by combining your oils in a double boiler, add in the sea butter, coconut oil, beeswax, honey, and vitamin E oil. Heat until all is melted. (You can use a glass jar in a pot of water). Stir well until all is combined. Remove from heat and add charcoal powder, kaolin clay, and essential oils. Again mix well and get it straight into the jars to cool. Do not disturb the jar while they cool for several hours to ensure the balm sets well. This will make a small amount for personal use. I triple the recipe to fill 10 2 oz jars.
